Our Returns Policy

At Get Outside Hat Co, many of our pieces are handmade and made to order. Because of this, our returns policy differs depending on the type of item purchased.

Please choose carefully and check sizing, measurements and product details before placing your order.

Custom Orders — Final Sale

All custom and personalised orders are final sale and cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded for change of mind, incorrect sizing or a change of preference.

This includes custom-made hats, personalised designs, custom colours, special requests, alterations and other items made specifically for you.

If you pay for a deposit and decide to not go through with the purchase of the item, your deposit is non-refundable as it was used to purchase materials needed for the creation of your hat/belt etc.

Because these pieces are created specifically to your requirements, we are unable to resell them as a standard product.

We will, however, always honour your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If a custom item is faulty, damaged, or does not match the agreed specifications, please contact us so we can work with you on an appropriate solution.

Sale Items — Final Sale

All sale, discounted and clearance items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged for change of mind, incorrect sizing or change of preference.

Australian Consumer Law rights still apply where an item is faulty or otherwise does not meet your consumer guarantees.

Apparel — Size Exchanges

For apparel purchases, we offer one size exchange where the requested replacement size is available.

To be eligible for a size exchange:

The item must be unworn and in its original condition.
All original tags must still be attached.
The item must be returned within 14 days of delivery.
You are responsible for return postage costs.
The replacement item will be shipped once the original item has been received and inspected.

If the size you require is unavailable, we will issue a refund for the item.

Apparel exchanges are for size only and do not include exchanges due to change of mind, colour preference or style preference.

Ready-Made Hats — Store Credit

Ready-made hats are eligible for store credit only if you change your mind or require a different size.

To be eligible:

The hat must be unworn and in its original condition.
It must be returned within 14 days of delivery.
You are responsible for return postage costs.
The hat must not have been altered, reshaped, damaged or worn.

Once the returned hat has been received and inspected, we will issue store credit for the value of the returned item.

Store credit can be used towards a future purchase from Get Outside Hat Co and is not redeemable for cash.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect, please contact us as soon as possible with photos and details of the issue.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a product has a major failure, or otherwise does not meet the consumer guarantees that apply to it, you may be entitled to a replacement, repair or refund as required by law.

Change of Mind

We do not offer refunds for change of mind on custom orders, sale items or ready-made hats.
