“Watching the sky change colours from pink to orange to deep shades of crimson. Listening to the chatter of the birds and the call of the ‘Ngaoara’ at the end of the day.” Derived from a poem by Helena Geiger. Mookaite (Australian Jasper) beads and a black cockatoo feather symbolising the scene at Uluru.

One aspect I wanted to make a priority with my Australiana Collection

is paying respects to the traditional custodians of the land and recognising that this always was, and always will be aboriginal land.

To do this I created a couple of hats in collaboration with an amazing indigenous artist, Helena. As well as this, 10% of the profits of these hats will be going to Aboriginal Women’s and Children Crisis Service. Working in this industry I have a huge passion and love for these services and want to be able to give back in any way I can.

Always was. Always will be. Paying respects and acknowledging the traditional custodians of this land I now call home. A deep appreciation for their culture and a mutual love of country. This hat is in collaboration with lovely indigenous textile artist, Helena. Fabric name is: Sand hills design in Ochre which is used for the band and internal silk liner of the crown.
